-  Bonsoir, Montpellier  -

We’re already on the Mediterranean coast. It’s 12 degrees, the sun is shining. We measured 14 degrees in one spot!
I often talk to my friend Csilla on Viber. She calls me regularly, so I don’t fall asleep while driving.

We arrived in Montpellier.Well, it was a long day—we ran into lots of cloudbursts and sleet, but we got the day’s task done. Here in Montpellier I drove around a lot before I found the accommodation, because I went past it and there are tons of one-way streets here, but together with the GPS we finally made it. I parked in the underground garage, then took the dogs out for a quick round of pee-poop. They were so, so patient the whole time—not a peep—while I was circling around and around. Have I said already that I love them and I’m crazy about them?

Then I walked to the hotel reception with them, where it turned out I hadn’t parked in their garage, but in the one just before it. That was awkward, because then I would have had to carry all our six hundred thousand things. But the girl was really sweet, and she spoke English really well. We agreed that I’d go back to the wrong garage, pay for the one hour they charge, and in their garage I’d get the parking space for free. Plus it’s close to the elevator and I can easily lug everything over, then take the lift straight up to our floor. Everything worked perfectly.

She also said that she was sorry I’m only staying here for one night, but when I told her that Portugal is my final estination, she started raving about what a beautiful country it is and that she was sure I would really like it. And who knows—maybe one day I’ll come back to Montpellier for a longer period of time. You never know.
